Bacteriology of acute obstructive suppurative cholangitis of the aged.
Bacteriological examination was performed on bile from 23 patients with acute obstructive suppurative cholangitis. Of 23 bile cultures, 15 yielded aerobic and anaerobic bacteria and 8 yielded aerobic bacteria only. No specimen grew anaerobic bacteria only. A total of 20 cultures yielded a polymicrobial flora, and 3 cultures grew one single aerobic bacterium. Escherichia coli, Klebsiella sp., en...

متن کاملRole of high-mobility group box 1 in patients with acute obstructive suppurative cholangitis-induced sepsis
BACKGROUND High-mobility group box 1 (HMGB1) is a proinflammatory cytokine that plays an active role during the pathogenesis of inflammatory processes. The primary aim of this study was to detect whether HMGB1 is involved in the pathogenesis of acute obstructive suppurative cholangitis (AOSC). METHODS We collected peripheral blood samples from 23 patients with AOSC and 23 healthy volunteers w...
متن کاملChanges of Foxo3a in PBMCs and its associations with stress hyperglycemia in acute obstructive suppurative cholangitis patients
Objective The levels of Foxo3a in the peripheral blood mononuclears cells (PBMCs) before and after treatment were detected in acute obstructive suppurative cholangitis (AOSC) patients to evaluate the associations between Foxo3a and stress hyperglycemia (SHG). Methods PBMCs were obtained from AOSC patients (n=28) on admission (AP), from patients at 1 week after cure (RP) and from healthy volun...
